OUR PROJECTS Currently we are working to fulfill our mission through a few particular projects. The community garden pictured above is one of them. Click here to read more about it. We meet weekly to discuss various topics related to sustainability. Currently we are discussing drought, both globally and locally. We are partnering with the Sierra Club of Northeast Florida to discuss a process by which the City of Jacksonville can meet its commitments under the US Mayors Climate Protection Agreement. Our first event was a forum on climate change in connection with the first national day of climate action: Step It Up 2007. One of the most interesting events we took part in this past year was UNF's Symposium on climate change and Jacksonville's response to it, for which we sourced and prepared an all-local luncheon (with the exception of the cooking oil, which came from Louisiana). It was quite tasty and provocative. HOME |
